The SSIC is changing its name to the Swiss Science Council SSC

From 1 January 2018, our council is readopting the name it had when it was founded in 1965 – the Swiss Science Council CSS. This decision was taken because the new agency Innosuisse (formerly CTI), which is operational from 1 January 2018, also has an Innovation Council. In order to avoid confusion therefore, our board has approved the name change.

Although we are losing our “I”, we nevertheless retain the task of addressing innovation policy. As an advisory body of the Confederation, the Swiss Science Council adopts a systemic approach to training, innovation and science, since these do not come under the umbrella of just one federal department, but interact across all levels.
