Prof. Dr. Sabine Seufert has been Professor of Business Education at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland since 2009, where she heads the Institute for Educational Management and Educational Technologies. She studied business education at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany, and received her PhD in Information Management from the University of Münster, Germany, in 1996 (Dr. rer. pol.). In 2000, she was a visiting scholar at the Stanford Learning Lab. In 2006, she habilitated at the University of St. Gallen and received the venia legendi in Business Education. From 2009 to 2018, she led the Institute of Business Education before founding the new Institute of Educational Management and Technologies, with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI) in education.
Her areas of expertise are digital transformation in education and technology-enhanced learning, through her work in many international projects. Her recent research focuses on the implications of AI in education and the use of generative AI in education.
Sabine Seufert has been a member of the Swiss Science Council since 2024. She was also appointed by the Federal Council to the Board of the Swiss Federal University for Vocational Education and Training (SFUVET).
